This is the story of a Christian who wanted to marry, and he submitted the choice of his future wife to the Lord, he prayed and the Lord showed him his future wife, but this christian was unpleasantly surprised because woman was not the kind of woman he would like to marry, because he did not like her way of dressing and he said that she was too religious, he wanted a presentable woman before his family and his friends etc, in fact he wanted the woman of his dreams.
And so he continued to pray believing that it was the devil who showed him this woman, but God always confirmed that it is the woman that He gives him as wife, the brother went to his pastor to explain him this, and told him that he had no feelings for her, but his pastor told him to obey the will of God, and he finally agreed woman, and married her in obedience, but he understood that it was he who had to make of her "the woman of his dreams", so he began to change her clothes and shoes, make her beautiful, etc., and when he looked her, he was more proud because he saw his work in the life of his wife, this is how love for his wife was born in his heart, now they are very happy together in love because God has blessed them.
Imagine if his pastor had told him: If you have no love for her does not marry her because God can not give you someone you do not love?
Marriage is like Christ and the Church that we are, Christ loved us in our impurity and nastiness, He has not rejected us, but instead He took us as we were and forgave us, delivered and cleansed, and gave us His Holy Spirit, and has made us His wife and He is proud of us every day when He sees our transformation.
This is why the Apostle Paul make this beautiful exemple in Eph 5v25-29: Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church.
According to the testimonys of most of the Christian brothers who are married, they did not want their future wife, because they had a woman of their dreams, but they are subjected to the will of God, and these couples who are the happiest, pray and serve the Lord together, while those who refused the woman in their life for marry one of their dreams, are in torments, many divorced, because they preferred to obey their flesh than to obey God. Unfortunately what they do not know is that God is never in a marriage that He has not founded because disobedience opens the doors to the enemy but God respect and takes into account any marriage commitment.
This is a true story, and many servants of God know what I'm saying. So be careful! to any marriage engagement because God hate divorce.
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. (Gal 5v16-18).
