THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: The Fruit of the Spirit, it's just LOVE that characterizes Christ! that Christian must have, it's the fruit of the Spirit which characterizes a born again person,
Before giving our lives to the Lord Jesus Christ as the only Lord and Savior, we had our character, our way of thinking and seeing things, we were natural beings, without the knowledge of God, but when we come to God, Spirit of God works in our inner being and transforms us, but this work is not done without our consent and submission, So we must be stripped of our old nature to take Christ.
The Bible shows us everything that is contrary to the fruit of the Spirit in Gal 5v19-21: Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
And this is what produces the fruit of the Spirit in believer Gal 5v22-23: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
We often make the mistake of believing that because a person has the gifts of the Spirit, he necessarily has the fruit of the Spirit while they are two different things, the gifts of the Spirit are freely given by God according to His will to whom He want for the service of His Church, while the Fruit of the Spirit is something that the believer must seek in prayer and accepting the brokenness.
A person can have the gifts of the Spirit, the gifts of ministries, preaching and teaching well, and not having the fruit of the Spirit, exemple: a Christian who is brawler, who does not forgive, who reviles, who choses to love who he want and not love who he do not want, who masturbates, who watch movies and pornographic magazines, who covets, etc. This is why Paul makes the difference between love and the gifts of the Spirit in 1Cor 13.

A person who has not the fruit of the Spirit can not practice the commandments of God, for the fruit of the Spirit produces love of God and love of neighbor, the fruit of the Spirit produces the fear of the Lord, the one who has the fruit of the Spirit is always seeks to do the will of God, he is totally submitted to God.
King David understood this, that is why he wrote Psalms 51 and 119, where he always ask God to let him know His ways and help him to put into practice His commandments, and purifie his heart, while some Christians always pray asking the blessing and power of God.
It is very important to know that we will not be judged according to the gifts and talents we have received from God, but by manifestation of the fruit of the Spirit in our lives.
We will not enter into the kingdom of God because of our gifts and talents, but by the new birth produced by the fruit of the Spirit.
The apostle Peter says in 2 Peter 1v5-11: And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
The Lord Jesus says: Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Mat 7v19-23
The ten virgins had all the lamps burning, but five of them had not enough oil to keep their lamps lit and they have missed the wedding, so they had the wickedness in them.
The Bible says: The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out. Pr 13v9.
Any ministry that neglects the fruit of the Spirit in his life, the anointing that accompanies his ministry and gifts will eventually die because the Spirit of God will be sadden and will eventually withdraw. That is why in some ministries there is only rhetoric, there is no longer the power of God, because of lack of fruit of the Spirit .
