THE GIFT OF FAITH

The Bible tells us that the Spirit of God has given the Church of Jesus-Christ spiritual gifts for the edification of the body of Christ, in these gifts include:
THE GIFT OF FAITH 1Cor 12v9
There are three types of faith:

1-Passive faith: he who has this faith is not based on the word of God, he believes in God, he comes to church like everyone, but he still lives in sin, but he believes in God. (James 2v14-20)

2-The faith of the assurance of salvation: it is the basic faith of everyone born again, this faith comes when we hear the word of God (Rom 10v17), and receive the Spirit of God, this faith grows by the teachings of Jesus Christ, and is nourished by certain elements that the Apostle Peter quotes in 2Pi1 v5-7: And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;  And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

3-THE GIFT OF FAITH: It is a power gift, the gift by which God works miracles, God gives this gift when He wants to use a person to work miracles and do things that are beyond human understanding.
One who has this gift makes all things on the word of God, without doubting nor murmuring, he has absolute confidence in God, he does not limit God, he is delivered from his own logic, from his own convictions, and from his preferences, he no longer reasoning, his old man is dead, he is entirely subject to God.
Hebrews 11v1:
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Without the gift of faith, Abraham would not have had the courage to try to sacrifice his son at God's command, he knew that God would provide. (Gen 22v1-13)
Without the gift of faith, Noah would not have built the ark of the covenant and live in the inner with all animal species, because it's was something that went beyond human understanding (Gen 6,7 and 8). It is through the gift of faith that Moses could stand and talk to Pharaoh, it is the gift of faith that he managed to bring the Israelites out of Egypt, by operating great miracles: the ten plagues, the separating of the sea to cross the Israelites when they were facing the sea and the host of Pharaoh that came behind them, their situation was hopeless, but the gift of faith that Moses had, has operated the miracle. It is through the gift of faith that Moses struck the rock and can be out of the water, and can make drinkable mara water, etc.

It is through the gift of faith that Joshua did the Israelites enter the Promised Land, defeating all armies of Israel's enemies.
All the great prophets of the Old Testament who performed miracles, all had the gift of faith, example Elijah and Elysee.

He who has the gift of faith no longer afraid to die, he is able to face all dangers, because he has the assurance that God is with him and protect him, he knows that if he dies on mission, it is the will of God, but he will go to the end of his mission, as the Lord Jesus did all things and suffering until be sacrificed on the cross.
All the miracles that Jesus operated were made by the gift of faith. All the apostles of Jesus, all had the gift of faith, so they could perform miracles, healing the sick, restoring sight to the blind, raise the dead etc., the gift of faith still exists in the Church of Jesus Christ because God still works until the coming of His Son Jesus.
The main enemy of the gift of faith is doubt, that is why the Lord says in Matthew 21v21-22:

Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Be bless! Hawa Esther Maiga

  1. Recemment une amie m'a dit que j'ai le cadeau de la foi. Cette article is tres interessante. Nous ne pouvons pas faire rien sans la foi mais avec la foi nous pouvons faire l'impossible.
