HOW TO WORSHIP GOD IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH?

In the Old Testament, the Israelites offered sacrifices for the forgiveness of sins, for thanksgiving, for feasts, guilt offering, and to worship the Lord, and all this was done in Jerusalem where the priests the Levites were located and who were responsible for collecting the animals to sacrifice and burn them as prescribed by God (Lev 22 and 23).
But not all these practices did not remove sin , people still continued in their sins and therefore their worship can not always ascended to God, because sin is an obstacle to worship.
And Samaritans were going to pray other gods in the mountains.

That is why the Lord Jesus told to the Samaritan woman:
Jn 4v21-24: Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews (Jesus-Christ is the salvation came from the Judeeans=Jews). But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
When the Lord was speaking to the Samaritan woman who was also an daughter of Israel northern tribes of Israel, with its capital Samaria, He was made her understand that now the worship to God would no longer be in a specific place, but that man will now be connected to God and He will send his prayers and worship without sacrifice and without going through the priests, to be heard and be fulfilled.

Before the fulfillment of the prophecy of Jeremiah 31v31-34, and Joel 2v28-29, the Spirit of God was only on the priests, prophets and kings, it is these category of persons who were anointed and can be connect to God, but at the coming of the Holy Spirit, these two great prophecies have been fulfilled, because everyone can receive the Spirit of God if they have Jesus Christ in their life and follow His teachings, and those who have received the spirit of God are those who have received the law (the 10 commandments) of God in their heart, and are connected in spirit to God and can communicate with Him, their lives have been transformed by the renewing of their minds (the new birth). That is why our life is hidden in Christ (Col 3v3).

The prayer in spirit, is an supernatural ways, it is by our spirit that we prays and saying things to God, God is Spirit He is not flesh, so, it is by our spitit that we can worship Him, we can worship Him also with our intelligence (speaking in a language known with our own words), but also in spirit, speaking in tongues is the most effective way to worship God in spirit.
1Cor 14v2: or he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
Here is how prayer in spirit is: A person who has the gift of "speaking in tongues" begin his adoration in his own words, but at some moment, the Spirit of God connects him with Him and he begins to feel His presence around him, he begins to pray in tongues and he only stop when the Spirit of God will let him, and he continue to pray with his own words. This can happen in the congregation or home. There are also prayer in a dream where God is worshiped with words we understand, it's our spirit that adores Him but we sleep.

What is important to know is that prayer in spirit is never premeditated, it is always inspired by the Holy Spirit, it's a time when man enters into intimacy with God.
Often it is when we no longer know what to say to God after praying in our own words, that the Spirit of God comes to our aid, it happened to me several times, I remember one night before to asleep, I started to pray, and I did not know what to say to God, but I wanted to pray most long time, I even yawned lol! and I was frustrated, so I asked God to help me to worship Him, I said: Lord, help me, because I do not know what to say lol! I assure you that God heard me and the Spirit of God helped me, I prayed in tongues, and then I felt good, and then I fell asleep, glory to God!
The Bible says: Romans 8v26: Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Worship and intercession are very important, and no one can be a true worshiper and intercessor, without prayer in spirit.
Praying IN TRUTH is to live the life of Christ, live according to the doctrine of Christ, and live in holiness.
The Spirit of God can also lead us into a song in spirit (spiritual language, or in our own language) during the worship.
That is why you must ask God to give you the gift of speaking in tongues, to enter into another dimension of prayer with Him, for those who pray in spirit often have visions, and can also hear the voice God during prayer, according to God's will, others do not hear the voice of God nor vision, but are restored deep within them, it's very important, because when we worship our God deeply, He restores us and we are in joy.
